Jakarta, VIVA – Candyco is a knitting craft business in Malang City that was established in 2020 and is known for its best-selling products, including knitted flowers and knitted dolls, with custom order services allowing customers to order products according to their references and needs.

Supported by 15 workers, Candyco markets its products through outlets, resellers, marketplaces, social commerce, B2B schemes, as well as exhibitions and events, with a customer reach from the local market to inter-city.

Candyco Co-Founder Adillah Dhianida Khanza stated that developing the custom knitting business requires consistency in quality, readiness of production capacity, and strengthening of human resource management to ensure stable fulfilment of customer demands.

“Candyco started from a knitting hobby that then developed after seeing market opportunities and receiving support from close ones to start selling knitted products. In the initial stage, sales were conducted through marketplaces. Because it was run while studying, the business was on hiatus in 2022–2023, then became active again in 2024 and opened an outlet in Malang City. The journey to reach the current stage has not been easy, especially in adapting to market trends and managing human resources to continue meeting customer demands,” she said.

Candyco develops handmade knitted products with a focus on knitted flowers and knitted dolls as the products most favoured by customers. In supporting daily operations, Candyco uses BRI QRIS to facilitate payment receipts from customers.

On the business development side, LinkUMKM has become part of strengthening Candyco’s business through access to various training programmes and mentoring.

Adillah participated in the Seven Days Challenge programme organised by LinkUMKM, a structured seven-day challenge that encourages MSME actors to create daily content using a micro storytelling approach to summarise the business journey and prepare the next development plan.

“It was fun because we could do a rewind and reflection on various things that have been carried out during the business-building journey, thus helping us to compile future strategies,” she revealed.

By the end of 2025, LinkUMKM has been utilised by more than 14.98 million MSME actors as an online business mentoring platform, from capacity enhancement, market expansion, to accelerating the process of business scaling. LinkUMKM presents six main integrated features, namely UMKM Smart, Rumah BUMN, UMKM Media, Community, Digital Showcase, and NIB Register, supported by more than 750 learning modules to strengthen the soft skills and hard skills of business actors.
