Jakarta — Indonesian snack food manufacturer Momogi Group has begun pursuing international market expansion as a new growth strategy. The company is exploring expansion into Vietnam, a nation with over 100 million inhabitants that is considered to have significant consumption potential.

The initial phase of this expansion is being undertaken through Bibica Corporation, a company acquired by Momogi Group in November 2025.

Momogi Group Director Sumarlik stated that this collaboration combines product innovation strengths and distribution networks to introduce Momogi products to a broader consumer base in Vietnam.

“Vietnam is one of the fastest-growing markets in Southeast Asia, with a population exceeding 100 million people and stable economic growth over the past several years,” Sumarlik said in an official statement on Friday (13 March 2026).

Vietnam’s gross domestic product (GDP) per capita reached approximately $5,000, or around 82.5 million rupiah, in 2025. This figure reflects increased purchasing power among the population and opens opportunities for greater domestic consumption growth.

“This situation makes Vietnam one of Momogi’s priority markets in our regional expansion strategy going forward,” Sumarlik explained.

The signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) represents the initial step in this plan, specifically to explore broader distribution of Momogi products throughout Vietnam.

“Vietnam is one of the fastest-growing markets in Southeast Asia. We hope this collaboration can help Momogi products reach more consumers in Vietnam whilst strengthening our brand presence in that market,” said Sumarlik.

Bibica Corporation is a confectionery manufacturer that has long operated in Vietnam and possesses an extensive national distribution network.

According to Sumarlik, Bibica’s position is considered strategically important to help expand the reach of Momogi products in the country.

“This also represents the initial step towards deeper collaboration between the two companies, as discussions continue regarding potential distribution arrangements for products in the future,” he emphasised.
