From Khoirudin to Suhud, Why Did PKS Replace the DPRD DKI Leadership?

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) has finally spoken out regarding the replacement of the Chairman of the Jakarta Regional Representative Council (DPRD DKI) from Khoirudin to Suhud Alynudin. The decision is outlined in the latest decree from the PKS Central Executive Board (DPP), which also revokes the previous decree on the DPRD DKI leadership for the 2024–2029 period. This replacement emerged after a decree circulated proposing changes to the legislative leadership in DPRD DKI Jakarta. In the document, the party also revokes the DPP PKS Decree Number: 128/SKEP/DPP-PKS/2025 on the Leadership and Apparatus of DPRD Province of DKI Jakarta for the 2024–2029 period, dated 27 October 2025. “Proposing the replacement of the Chairman of the Jakarta Provincial DPRD, previously held by Khoirudin, with Suhud Alynudin,” states an excerpt from the circulated decree, quoted on Tuesday (21/4/2026). The document also explains that the decision is conveyed to the PKS Jakarta Regional Leadership Council (DPW) for follow-up in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Additionally, the appointed cadre is required to comply with all provisions related to the functions, authority, and duties as Chairman of the DPRD, as well as a council member and member of the PKS Faction as the party’s mandatary. The decision is stated to be effective from the date of issuance until the end of the DPRD DKI Jakarta term for the 2024–2029 period. The document also mentions that if there are any errors, corrections will be made as appropriate. “To the Party Members as stated in the Second Dictum above, they are obliged to comply with all regulations concerning the functions, authority, and duties as Chairman of the Regional Representative Council concurrently as a Council Member and Member of the Prosperous Justice Party Faction as the Party’s Mandatary in the Regional Representative Council,” the letter states. “As we are in the DPW, in PKS the principle is ‘sami’na wa atha’na’—we listen and obey. So if there is indeed a change, we hear and comply,” said Taufik when confirmed on Tuesday (21/4/2026). He also assured that the replacement was not triggered by internal conflicts within the party. “There is no (internal conflict). This is purely for consolidation. We are updating for the good of the community as well,” he said. According to Taufik, this replacement is part of the party’s internal arrangement process, including at the leadership and faction levels.
