From June, Whoosh to Enhance Service with Dining Car

The Whoosh high-speed train is introducing a new service for its passengers. Starting 4 June 2026, KAI Services will officially operate a dining car within the Whoosh train sets to provide a more comfortable travel experience for users of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail service.

The introduction of the dining car will allow passengers to enjoy various food and beverage options during their journey, similar to the services currently available on long-distance trains. The facility is also designed as an interactive space for passengers who wish to relax while enjoying their trip.

Lies Permana Lestari, Director of Consumer Business at KAI Services, stated that the operation of the dining car is part of the company’s efforts to enhance service quality for Whoosh users. She noted that KAI Services is offering a diverse range of food and beverages tailored to the relatively short duration of high-speed rail journeys.

“KAI Services will begin managing the Whoosh Dining Car on 4 June 2026, serving high-quality food and beverages with various options suitable for short trips,” Lies said in her statement.

The available menu includes ready-to-eat meals, snacks, pastries, as well as various hot and cold beverages. These options are prepared to ensure passengers can enjoy practical meals without compromising their comfort during the journey.

In addition to serving food and drinks, the service will be supported by dining bar attendants tasked with attending to customer needs within the dining car area.

Lies added that the new facility is expected to provide added value for Whoosh users, particularly frequent commuters travelling between Jakarta and Bandung for work or business purposes. She noted that many high-speed rail users have high mobility and often lack the time to purchase food before departure. The dining car will ensure these needs are met during the journey.

KAI Services hopes that this addition of facilities will further complete the Whoosh travel experience, while supporting efforts to improve the quality of rail-based transportation to be fast, comfortable, and practical for the public.
