JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, has confirmed that the Car-Free Day (HBKB) on Jalan HR Rasuna Said will resume on June 1st, 2026.

The Car-Free Day in the Rasuna Said area will be held every Sunday from 05:30 to 09:00 WIB.

Pramono said that initially, the Car-Free Day in Rasuna Said was planned to last until 10:00 WIB.

“In Rasuna Said, it will start from 05:30 to 09:00 because there will be several places for worship that begin at 10:00 am,” said Pramono when met in the PIK 2 area, North Jakarta, Sunday (May 17th, 2026).

Pramono explained that the DKI Provincial Government will indeed change the operating hours of the Car-Free Day in several locations in Jakarta starting next June.

In the Sudirman-MH Thamrin area, the schedule has also been changed to 05:30-10:00 WIB.

“Regarding the Car-Free Day, specifically for both Sudirman-Thamrin and Rasuna Said, we will start it effectively on June 1st,” said Pramono.

Furthermore, Pramono explained that the Car-Free Day in Rasuna Said has not been started recently because the government is still carrying out improvements to the area after the dismantling of the monorail pillars.

Pramono hopes that all supporting facilities in the area will be completed before the first implementation at the beginning of June.

“Specifically for the Car-Free Day in Rasuna Said, why then June 1st? Because hopefully by June 1st, all facilities will be completed, including pedestrian areas and tree planting,” said Pramono.

From the evaluation results, the government found several things that need to be improved so that the implementation of the Car-Free Day does not disrupt traffic and the activities of local residents.

One of the improvements is separating the Transjakarta lane from the area where residents exercise.

In addition, the government has also prepared turning points for vehicles at several points so that traffic flow is not disrupted when the road is closed.
