From Interactive Screens to Electric Rickshaws, NU Congress Participants Appreciate Prabowo's Aid Programmes
A number of participants at the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Congress have responded positively to the presence of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto during the congress proceedings.
One congress participant, Nabila, assessed that the government’s support for NU as well as the President’s priority programmes represent an important step towards improving public welfare. According to her, all government policies should ultimately lead to the improvement of people’s well-being.
“As Mr President promised earlier, the IFP (Interactive Flat Panel) is one thing. It is good news, but the most important thing is welfare for the people,” said Nabila after the opening ceremony of the 35th NU Congress at Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Islamic Boarding School in Jombang, East Java, as quoted on Friday, 28 August 2026.
She also admitted that she had only just learned that the becak parked in front of her house was assistance from the President. According to Nabila, the aid provides real benefits for the community, particularly in supporting daily mobility.
“Earlier we just found out that the becak in front of our house was from the President, and it really helps with mobility. Thank you, Mr President,” she said.
Another congress participant, Robiyah, expressed hope that the relationship between NU and the government could continue to be strengthened through constructive synergy. According to her, such cooperation is important for building a better life for Indonesian society, both in terms of nationhood and religious life.
“NU and the government must work in synergy, making Indonesian citizens better religious people,” she said.
Meanwhile, another congress participant, Yusuf, said he was satisfied with the running of the congress and the presence of President Prabowo. He assessed that the event proceeded smoothly and received good support.
“Alhamdulillah, it was very satisfying, supportive and ran smoothly,” concluded Yusuf.
