I run a telecommunications kiosk in Central Jakarta.
Unfortunately, I always end up paying more than what is stated on
the telecommunications kiosk's bill from PT Telkom. The
difference ranges from between Rp 12,000 and Rp 21,000, and in
May 2002 it was Rp 196,000.
The bill for my telecommunications kiosk always arrives very
late so I always pay the bill even if the billing statement has
not yet arrived, because PT Telkom requires that a
telecommunications kiosk owner pay the bill by the 10th of every
month at the latest.
Unfortunately, I have always found a discrepancy between what
I have paid through the bank and what is written on the billing
statement. When I complained to Telkom operator No. 147, the
operator suggested that I inquire about this matter at the
service point at Percetakan Negara 17 or to Bina Wartel.
When I contacted Bina Wartel, I was told to contact Telkom's
head office on Jl. Gatot Subroto. And when I went to the head
office, I was told to contact the telecommunications service
center on Jl. Medan Merdeka Barat, because the head office could
only acknowledge the mistake on my May 2002 bill, but not for the
previous months.
Unfortunately, when I contacted the service center on Jl.
Medan Merdeka Barat, I was told to refer this matter to Bina
Wartel. I still have not received a satisfactory answer about my
problem.
In May, Telkom made a calculation error on my billing
statement so that the amount owed was much higher than it should
have been.
Later I received a corrected billing statement from Bina
Wartel, plus an explanation about the payment. It is a shame
Telkom did not immediately correct this mistake.
