CapCut, an integrated video editing solution, continues to strengthen its role in driving the growth of the creative industry and digital economy in Indonesia. By offering a range of comprehensive editing features to ready-to-use templates, CapCut makes it easy for the public to produce quality content without requiring professional expertise.

In line with these efforts, CapCut provides space for creators to work and develop economic potential through various initiatives, one of which is the open competition titled #CapCutGala2026, inviting creators to share their best works. CapCut also held the CapCut Gala 2026 awards night at the end of last April to appreciate the 21 best creators and celebrate the community’s contributions to the national creative industry.

CapCut’s efforts to empower creators align with the government’s agenda to promote the growth of the creative and digital economy. As one of the countries with rapid development in the creator ecosystem, Indonesia’s creative economy sector absorbs around 27.4 million workers in 2025, up from 26.48 million the previous year. This figure is equivalent to 18.7 percent of the total national workforce.

The creative economy’s contribution to the national gross domestic product (GDP) in 2024 reached Rp 1,611.2 trillion or 7.28 percent, underscoring the sector’s role as one of the main pillars of the national economy.

The Ministry of Creative Economy notes that this sector covers 17 subsectors, including film, animation, video, applications, and digital content that continue to grow in line with increasing utilisation of digital platforms. CapCut is present to open wider access for local creators to create, collaborate, and strengthen their position in the sustainable creative economy value chain.
