At the TOP CSR Awards 2026, PT Wijaya Karya Realty outlined concrete steps in implementing ESG and social responsibility programmes that touch on the environment, workforce, and community empowerment. The company emphasised that sustainability is now an integral part of its core property and hospitality business strategy.

Jakarta, TopBusiness — PT Wijaya Karya Realty (WIKA Realty) continues to strengthen its sustainable business transformation through various corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and the application of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles. These efforts were presented during the online judging session of the TOP CSR Awards 2026 on Thursday (7/5/2026).

In the forum, WIKA Realty’s President Director Fery Safaria affirmed that the company no longer views ESG as merely an administrative obligation, but as part of its long-term business strategy.

“WIKA Realty is aligning its ESG policies and standards with international best practices, including TCFD, IFRS Sustainability Standards, and ISO standards, while continuously expanding their application across the entire organisation,” said Fery.

The presentation was accompanied by Executive Vice President of Marketing and Development, as well as Acting Vice President of Engineering and Transformation Division, Rizka Kautsar, along with her team; Corporate Secretary Saskia Ayu Ajeng Aditya Putri and her team; Vice President of Risk, System, Supply Chain Management Division Dwi Purwanto and his team; and representatives from Human Capital Management.

The judging panel consisted of Melani K. Harriman from Melani K. Harriman & Associates, Puteri Rahsilaputeri from Sinergi Daya Prima, Nurul Yakin Setyabudi from IDTUG/BPSK DKI, and Teguh Imam Suyudi from TopBusiness.

ESG Becomes the New Direction for the Property Business

Established in 2000 as a subsidiary of PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk, WIKA Realty has evolved from a property business unit into a developer with a portfolio encompassing landed housing, apartments, condotels, hotels, office buildings, and property management services.

Through its Tamansari brand, the company promotes environmentally friendly design concepts and local wisdom in major cities across Indonesia. Business transformation is also bolstered by hospitality sector developments, with a portfolio of 15 hotels emphasising local cultural values.

According to Fery, shifts in global property industry trends make sustainability a key factor in determining investment directions and project developments.

Therefore, the company is directing investments towards green buildings, sustainable city-based areas, and low-carbon property product developments.

In its ESG grand strategy for 2026, WIKA Realty has set several key focuses, including strategies to reduce carbon emissions from fuel and electricity use, implementation of waste management at headquarters and projects, inventory of renewable energy, and establishment of water usage baselines.

These steps form part of the company’s ESG roadmap towards long-term goals as a national company serving as a benchmark for ESG implementation in the property and hospitality sectors.

From Tree Planting to Hotel SMEs

WIKA Realty’s sustainability commitment is translated through flagship CSR programmes targeting the environment, society, and corporate governance.

In the environmental domain, the company runs preservation and greening programmes based on local wisdom, including tree-planting actions and environmental rehabilitation in several project areas. This programme strengthens the company’s environmental pillar.

Additionally, WIKA Realty promotes green operations through energy efficiency and carbon emission reductions. The company implements the use of LED lights, motion sensors, document digitalisation, and electric vehicles for executive operations.

Internal company data shows that electricity usage in 2025 decreased by 5.75 per cent compared to the previous year, while paper usage reduced by more than 40 per cent due to administrative digitalisation.

On the social aspect, the company implements programmes to empower SMEs in the hospitality supply chain, providing broader opportunities for local business actors to enter the company’s business ecosystem.

WIKA Realty also applies inclusivity policies through public space accessibility for persons with disabilities, increased representation of women in managerial levels, and opening recruitment channels for local workers with mild disabilities.

Meanwhile, on the governance side, the company strengthens the implementation of the Whistleblowing System (WBS), integrity pacts, and anti-bribery management systems to reinforce a culture of compliance and transparency.

Integrating CSR and Sustainable Business

For WIKA Realty, CSR programmes are no longer separate from the company’s business strategy. All social and environmental initiatives are now directed to support sustainable corporate transformation.

The company has even formed an ESG Steering Committee involving various strategic divisions, from corporate secretary, internal audit, human capital, to business development and information technology.

This structure enables cross-functional ESG implementation and integration into business decision-making.

WIKA Realty is also beginning to integrate sustainability risks into enterprise risk management (ERM), including climate change risks, social risks, and regulatory risks.

According to Fery, the biggest challenge in ESG implementation is not just technological investment or green financing, but building a consistent corporate culture.

“Sustainability must become a work culture and part of decision-making at all levels of the organisation,” he said.
