Natural ingredient-based food products remain a popular choice worldwide. Entrepreneurs from regions in Indonesia are leveraging their potential to compete in the global market.

One small and medium enterprise (UMKM) actor from West Bandung Regency, Novio, is part of this development. The company is expanding its market reach abroad while engaging in international creative economy activities.

In recent times, Novio’s products have reached consumers in Europe via global digital platforms. The response from international markets, including Italy, indicates that Indonesian artisan products based on natural ingredients have opportunities for wider acceptance. Moreover, these products are supported by consistent quality and processes.

Alongside this, Novio also participated in an exhibition with the West Bandung Regency Creative Economy Forum (Fekraf) at the Singapore Ramadan Bazaar 2026, held at Our Tampines Hub, Central Plaza.

This event is part of efforts to introduce local products to broader markets while understanding the dynamics of global consumer needs.

This momentum was further strengthened by a visit from international chef Yohhei Sasaki. He directly inspected Novio’s production process in the West Bandung area.

The visit covered the entire production chain from upstream to downstream, starting from agricultural areas in Cipada and Parongpong to research and development facilities in Cigugur Girang.

During the visit, Chef Yohhei tasted various fermented and natural ingredient-based processed products and explored their potential use in professional kitchen needs.

“It is interesting to see how the production process is maintained from upstream to downstream. Such an approach is important in maintaining product quality,” said Yohhei Sasaki.

UMKM observers assess that connectivity to international markets is not only determined by product quality. It is also influenced by process consistency, transparency, and the ability of business actors to maintain sustainable standards.

This development shows that artisan products from regions have opportunities to grow in the global market, along with increasing interest in natural ingredient-based products and well-maintained processes.
