From Atop a Command Vehicle, Dasco Tells Students: We Will Follow Up on Your Aspirations

Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR), Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, met with student demonstrators in front of the DPR building. He climbed onto a command vehicle and explained what had been discussed with student representatives during a 1.5-hour meeting inside the building. “Long live students, long live students, long live the Indonesian people,” Dasco shouted from atop the command vehicle on Friday (19/6/2025). “Brothers and sisters, fellow students, we have just held an audience and received the aspirations from your representatives,” he continued. Dasco stated that they had heard all the students’ demands. He also immediately contacted the relevant parties to ensure the students’ aspirations were conveyed. “We have directly conveyed several aspirations by telephone to the executive branch, both to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources and the Head of the National Nutrition Agency, and they listened to our aspirations directly,” he said. Dasco emphasised that they would ensure the aspirations presented are followed up. They have received all input, both from the student action and during discussions with the representatives. “Earlier, several aspirations directed at the DPR were also conveyed, and God willing, we will continue and follow up on them,” he added.
