Friendly tennis matches for VIPs

JAKARTA (JP): A friendly tennis exhibition, aimed at fostering relations among members of the Bakrie Rasuna Sport Club, will be held at Cilandak Sport Center, South Jakarta, on Saturday, the club's spokesman said yesterday.

Minister/State Secretary Moerdiono, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sport Hayono Isman, and chairman of the Indonesian Tennis Association (Pelti) Cosmas Batubara are among the VIPs who are expected to take part in the exhibition.

The US$12 million club, managed by the world's leading sport marketing company, International Management Group, has 13 tennis courts, a soccer field, a hockey field and a fitness center.

The report said the club has recently opened a world class training center which is affiliated with the Nick Bollittieri Tennis Academy of Florida, U.S.A., which has helped produce world class players such as Andre Agassi, Jim Courier and Monica Seles. (arf)
