The Financial Services Authority (OJK) states that the resilience of the financial services sector is a priority for the board of commissioners amid a challenging global geopolitical situation. OJK Board of Commissioners Chair Friderica Widyasari Dewi likened the current conditions to flying in an aircraft. “We always use the analogy that when flying, the weather can be bumpy and so on,” she said during the press conference for the Oath of Office of the Financial Services Authority Board of Commissioners Members on Wednesday (25/3/2026). “If our aircraft is in good condition and piloted well by the Sector Chief Executives, God willing, we will arrive safely at our destination,” she added. Friderica noted that global conditions, including geopolitics and the economy, are beyond the OJK’s control. “The important thing is that the resilience of our financial services sector is sufficiently strong,” she concluded. This aligns with Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 30/P of 2026 regarding the Dismissal and Appointment of Financial Services Authority Board of Commissioners Members. The five OJK commissioners who took the oath are officials approved by the People’s Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) in a DPR Plenary Session on 12 March 2026, following the fitness and propriety assessment process by Commission XI of the DPR RI. Meanwhile, the other two commissioners are ex-officio from the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) and Bank Indonesia (BI).
