Friderica Assures OJK's "Aircraft" is Ready to Fly Amid Various "Weather Conditions"
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Supreme Court (MA) officially inaugurated seven Members of the Board of Commissioners (ADK) of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) at the Supreme Court Building in Jakarta on Wednesday (25/3/2026).
OJK Board of Commissioners Chair Friderica Widyasari Dewi emphasised that the resilience of the financial services sector is the top priority at present. This is deemed crucial, particularly in facing the global geopolitical situation and an economy full of uncertainties.
According to her, external conditions such as global dynamics and the economy are beyond the control of domestic authorities. Therefore, the main focus is directed towards strengthening the fundamentals of the national financial services sector.
She also likened the financial services sector to an aircraft journey facing various weather conditions. As long as the aircraft is in good condition and piloted by competent pilots, the journey is believed to reach its destination safely.
“So, if we always use the analogy, when flying, the weather may not be smooth and so on, but if our aircraft is in good condition, and the pilots are also steered by the respective executive heads of other sectors well, insya Allah, we will arrive safely,” said Friderica at a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday (25/3/2026).
Friderica stressed that the quality and resilience of the financial services sector are the main keys in maintaining stability. With a strong foundation, this sector is expected to be able to face various unpredictable global pressures.
It is known that the five OJK ADK who took their oaths of office are officials who were appointed by the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) in the DPR RI Plenary Session on 12 March 2026, as a follow-up to the fitness and propriety examination process by Commission XI of the DPR RI. Meanwhile, the other two ADK are ex-officio from the Ministry of Finance and Bank Indonesia.
The seven Members of the OJK Board of Commissioners who took their oaths are as follows:
Friderica Widyasari Dewi as Chair of the Board of Commissioners for the period 2026-2032;
Hernawan Bekti Sasongko as Vice Chair of the Board of Commissioners for the period 2026-2031;
Hasan Fawzi as Executive Head of Supervision for Capital Markets, Derivative Finance, and Carbon Exchange for the period 2026-2031;
Dicky Kartikoyono as Executive Head of Supervision for Business Conduct in Financial Services, Education, and Consumer Protection for the period 2026-2032;
Adi Budiarso as Executive Head of Supervision for Financial Sector Technology Innovation, Digital Financial Assets, and Crypto Assets for the period 2026-2031;
Juda Agung as ex-officio ADK from the Ministry of Finance;
Thomas A.M Jiwandono as ex-officio ADK from Bank Indonesia.
