Friderica Appointed OJK Chair as Parliament Accelerates Approval Process
Jakarta — The Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) will ratify the decisions of Commission XI regarding five nominees for the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) for the 2026-2031 period.
The ratification will take place during the 16th Plenary Session of the Fourth Session of the 2025-2026 Parliamentary Year on the morning of Thursday, 12 March 2026.
Mukhamad Misbakhun, Chair of Commission XI, stated that the commission has determined five names for the new OJK Board of Commissioners. The decision was made by consensus following fit and proper testing conducted on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.
Misbakhun explained that the five positions established include Chair of the Board of Commissioners, Deputy Chair of the Board of Commissioners, and three executive heads overseeing financial services sectors.
Friderica Widyasari Dewi has been appointed as Chair of the OJK Board of Commissioners. Hernawan Bekti Sasongko has been selected as Deputy Chair of the OJK Board of Commissioners.
Commission XI has also appointed Hasan Fauzi as Executive Head for Capital Markets Supervision, Derivatives Finance, and Carbon Exchange at OJK. Dicky Kartikoyono has been designated Executive Head for Business Conduct Supervision, Financial Education, and Consumer Protection at OJK. Adi Budiarso has been selected as Executive Head for Innovation Technology Supervision in the Financial Sector, Digital Financial Assets, and Crypto Assets at OJK.
Misbakhun explained that the selection of these five individuals to lead the new OJK was based on an assessment of each candidate’s ability, capacity, and competence in addressing various challenges in the financial services sector.
Friderica Widyasari Dewi, who previously served as Executive Head for Business Conduct Supervision, Financial Education, and Consumer Protection at OJK, was selected as OJK Board Chair because she is considered capable of addressing fundamental issues at OJK during her relatively brief previous tenure.
“These selections are choices based on the ability, capacity, and competence that they possess,” he stated.
Misbakhun also noted that Hasan Fauzi, who previously served as Executive Head for Innovation Technology Supervision in the Financial Sector, Digital Financial Assets, and Crypto Assets at OJK, has demonstrated adequate response to various issues in the capital markets, including matters related to the Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) global index assessment, and is therefore qualified to become the new Executive Head for Capital Markets Supervision, Derivatives Finance, and Carbon Exchange at OJK.
