Friday: Mobile SIM Services Available at Five Jakarta Locations

The Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas) of the Jakarta Metro Police is providing mobile driving licence (SIM) renewal services at five locations in Jakarta on Friday for residents wishing to extend the validity of their driving permits. According to the official X account @tmcpoldametro, the service operates from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Western Indonesia Time at the following locations: East Jakarta: Lobby of Mall Grand Cakung; North Jakarta: Main lobby of LTC Glodok Mall; South Jakarta: Parking area next to Trilogi University; West Jakarta: South lobby of Mall Ciputra; Central Jakarta: Parking area of the Lapangan Banteng Post Office. The mobile SIM booths only process renewals for SIM A and SIM C categories that are still valid. If the licence has already expired, the holder must apply for a new SIM at the Daan Mogot SIM Centre in West Jakarta. The validity period of a SIM is now calculated as five years from the date of issuance and no longer aligns with the holder’s date of birth. Regarding renewal fees, in accordance with Government Regulation (PP) Number 76 of 2020 on Types and Rates of Non-Tax State Revenue applicable to the National Police, the cost is Rp80,000 for a SIM A and Rp75,000 for a SIM C. In addition to these fees, applicants must also pay supplementary charges of Rp100,000 for a psychological test and Rp50,000 for a health check. For information, motorists who cannot present a valid SIM will be subject to sanctions under Article 288, paragraph 2 of Law Number 22 of 2009 on Road Traffic and Transportation, which carries a maximum prison sentence of one month or a maximum fine of Rp250,000.
