Fresh Milk-Based Formula Introduced to Indonesian Market

Milk serves as a vital protein source for children, often used by parents to meet essential nutritional needs. Nutritionist Ratri Aryanti, S.Tr.Gz, Nutrition Partnership and Research Manager at AceKid Indonesia, emphasised that a child’s diet must include macro and micronutrients, including carbohydrates, proteins, fats, and minerals. She noted that while milk is a key source of animal protein, it is often used as a primary solution when children experience ‘GTM’ (refusal to eat). However, not all milk products offer complete nutritional fortification, such as AHA and DHA, which are typically found in specialised formulas but often absent in UHT milk.

According to Lucky Zheng, Marketing Director of AceKid Indonesia, the composition of infant formula widely available in Indonesia differs from that in more developed nations like the United States, the United Kingdom, and China, where fresh milk is often the primary ingredient. Zheng noted that the founder of AceKid was surprised to find that certain brands which use fresh milk as their main component in their home countries do not follow the same practice in Indonesia.

Acekid’s upcoming launch in Indonesia introduces a new approach, using fresh milk as the main ingredient with a focus on ingredient transparency, nutritional quality, milk sourcing, and production processes. To ensure transparency, a QR code on each tin can be scanned to trace the milk’s source and the production journey. Zheng explained that Acekid formula is not made from milk powder; instead, the production process is designed to process fresh milk directly into formula through an integrated workflow to better preserve natural nutrients. Furthermore, AceKid is formulated without added sucrose, maltodextrin, corn syrup, or synthetic flavours, as the brand aims to provide Indonesian infants with the high-quality nutrition standard found internationally.
