Frequent Overseas Trips: Prabowo Explains He's Securing Oil Supplies by Travelling Everywhere!

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President Prabowo Subianto explained that his frequent trips abroad are not for pleasure, but for work. Most recently, he needs to explore numerous agreements to secure oil availability and prices amid intensifying global conflicts. “People say Prabowo is just travelling abroad, enjoying trips overseas. Brothers and sisters, to secure oil, I have to go everywhere,” said Prabowo during a briefing to ministers, deputy ministers, agency heads, and echelon I ministry officials at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Wednesday (8/4/2026). Prabowo also revealed plans to continue visits to other countries in the near future. “We went to Japan and got it. Now I’m about to set off again. I’m going to head to another country. Once I leave, you’ll know where. To secure it too,” explained Prabowo. He also believes Indonesia’s future is truly bright. “So I’m confident, for me, Indonesia has no darkness. Indonesia is bright while many countries are struggling,” he stated. Furthermore, Prabowo stressed not to view the president’s job as easy. This former Kopassus General Commander feels a heavy burden on his shoulders. He also asked the president who will replace him to prepare themselves. “So standing here, brothers and sisters, don’t think this is an easy job. Those who want to be president, good luck. I’ve already committed. So now I have to work hard, no holidays for me,” Prabowo emphasised.
