Frequent Congestion on Ciledug Raya Road in South Jakarta to Be Widened This Year
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will widen Ciledug Raya Road in South Jakarta to tackle congestion. Head of the Roads and Bridges Division at the DKI Jakarta Public Works Department, Sofiatun, explained that the widening of Ciledug Raya Road will be carried out in stages starting in 2026. Currently, around 280 metres of land is ready for development. “Starting this year 2026, we will gradually carry out the road widening on Ciledug Raya Road,” said Sofi, quoted from the DKI DPRD website on Monday (11/5/2026). “We ask for support from all communities during the construction,” Sofi added. Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of the DPRD, Wibi Andrino, emphasised that addressing congestion in Ciledug is a priority for the local government. “Alhamdulillah, there is progress we are working on today after the community has complained enormously about the extremely congested conditions on Ciledug roads,” said Wibi. He stated that the DKI Public Works Department will resume the project that was previously stopped, with implementation through updated planning data. According to him, the handling will be done gradually while prioritising legal aspects, especially land acquisition. “We will work on it from the beginning again, slowly but surely,” Wibi said. According to Wibi, the land acquisition process will take place from 2027 to 2028. Meanwhile, the physical construction of the road widening will begin in early 2029. With this target, congestion can be resolved and community economic activities restored. “We hope the economy will grow again,” said Wibi. The condition of the Transjakarta bus stop in front of Budi Luhur University is also inadequate, causing queues extending onto the main road.
