Paris (ANTARA) - French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday (27/4) said he would continue exchanges with Iran after completing his visit to Andorra. Macron made the statement during his two-day visit to Andorra, expressing that the current ceasefire between the United States (US) and Iran is a positive development and that the next step should be to advance discussions. He said that prolonged tensions and remote responses between the parties involved in the conflict are not beneficial. Macron emphasised that it is important to ensure the smooth flow of gas, oil, fertiliser, and other goods through the Strait of Hormuz, as it impacts the global economy. Macron welcomed the two-week ceasefire between the US and Iran achieved earlier this month. At the same time, he also called for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
