French photo expo to be held soon

JAKARTA (JP): The French Cultural Center will hold a special
photo exhibition, presenting famous French photographer Jean-Loup
Sieff, from March 27 to April 14.

The exhibition, which will be held at the French Cultural
Center on Jl. Salemba Raya, Central Jakarta, is sponsored by the
Association Francaise d'Action Artistique of the French Foreign
Affairs Ministry.

Born in Paris, in l933, Sieff started his career as a
photographer in 1955 when famous women's magazine Elle asked him
to take photos of movie stars and models.

In l959 he received a prestigious award Niepce for his
outstanding works. He later moved to New York and was renowned as
a prominent photographer for various magazines including Glamour,
Esquire, Vogue and Queen.

When he went back to Paris, in l966, he worked for several
television programs and cinemas. He also worked jointly with
Vogue to publish his photographs.

In the coming exhibition, Sieff will present 30 works
featuring Paris and other subjects. (raw)
