French frigate to dock at Priok

JAKARTA (JP): The French frigate, La Fayette, the first stealthy frigate in the world, will visit Indonesia from April 28 to May 3.

The La Fayette, with 168 crew members, is commanded by Capt. Thierry d'Arbonneau.

The ship will be accompanied by surveillance ship Vendemiaire.

The ships will dock at Tanjuk Priok harbor.

The naval/air force warship, which can carry a helicopter, has taken part in operations outside Europe.

It can support an intervention task force, protect commercial traffic and execute special and humanitarian missions.

Capt. Thierry d'Arbonneau will pay a courtesy visit to North Jakarta Mayor Soeprawito, Officer in Command of Main Jakarta II Naval Base Navy Commodore, Haryo Armanto, and Commander of the Western Fleet, Rear Admiral Achmad Sutjipto. (12)
