Jakarta, Kompas.com – Concerns about leaving vehicles whilst travelling home for Lebaran remain a widespread anxiety among many Indonesians, particularly given the extended period vehicles must be left unattended.

To address this, travellers can take advantage of vehicle parking facilities at nearby police stations. This service provides a solution to enable the public to travel with greater peace of mind.

“There is a free parking service available, and the Polres stations already have dedicated staff,” said Kompol Joko Sembodo, Head of Traffic at the Depok Metro Police (Polres Metro Depok), when contacted by Kompas.com on Tuesday (17/3/2026).

The parking service is available not only at Polres level but also at nearby Polsek neighbourhood police stations, providing residents with numerous conveniently located options.

Budi, Media Relations Officer at Depok Metro Police (Polres Metro Depok), stated that residents can leave their vehicles either at their local Polres or nearest Polsek station.

“You are welcome to bring your vehicle to your local Polres or Polsek. The requirements are straightforward – simply bring photocopies of your identity card (KTP) and vehicle registration document (STNK),” said Budi.

Given these straightforward requirements, the public has been urged to utilise this service early in the Lebaran travel period to avoid capacity limitations at individual police stations.
