Free sea homecoming to the Thousand Islands opens on 9 March 2026 — here are the requirements
The DKI Jakarta provincial government through the Department of Transportation (Dishub) is organising a free sea transport homecoming program for residents wishing to return to their hometowns in the Thousand Islands. Dishub head Syafrin Liputo said registration will open on 9 March 2026. ‘Registration starts on 9 March and continues to 12 March 2026. Prospective participants can register online via Google Form,’ he said on Thursday (5/3/2026). The destination islands include Untung Jawa, Payung, Pramuka, Harapan, Panggang, Tidung, Lancang, Sebira, Pari, and Kelapa. Dishub set several requirements for people wishing to participate in the free homecoming program: during registration, participants will go through an online verification stage via WhatsApp. Participants must confirm upon receipt of the verification message. Dishub also reminded that the free homecoming program only serves departures from Muara Angke to the Thousand Islands and does not provide return transport to Jakarta. Registration will close when the quota or target number of participants is reached. After registration closes, verification of prospective participants will take place from 12 to 15 March 2026. Meanwhile, the homecoming departures are scheduled for 18 March 2026 from Muara Angke Port.
