Free Rabies Vaccination to be Held in Bali During Tumpek Uye Tomorrow
The Bali Provincial Government will hold free rabies vaccinations during the celebration of Rahina Tumpek Uye on Saturday (5/9/2026). The implementation will take place in each banjar, village, and sub-district.
The Head of the Bali Department of Agriculture and Food Security, I Wayan Sunada, stated that this programme is a form of implementing the values of compassion towards all of God’s creatures during the Tumpek Uye momentum.
“The implementation of rabies vaccination on the day of Tumpek Uye is themed around realising love for all of God’s creatures by protecting animals and humans from rabies,” said Sunada on Friday (4/9/2026).
Sunada explained that the vaccination targets residents’ pets that have the potential to be sources of rabies spread, particularly dogs, cats, and monkeys. He added that the requirement is that the animals must be in a healthy condition, and after being vaccinated, they must wear a collar.
Sunada further explained that besides maintaining the health of pets, rabies vaccination has other important benefits as a preventive measure against the risk of rabies transmission to humans. This programme is also expected to create a safe, clean, healthy, and harmonious environment.
“This vaccination is free. The vaccine is safe, the animals are healthy, and the family is safe,” he said.
For information, the peak of this programme’s implementation will be held at Jaba Pura Batukaru, Tabanan. Members of the public who wish to utilise this programme can visit their local banjar or sub-district office starting from 08:00 WITA.
