JAKARTA (JP): The spokesman for the state-owned highway company PT Jasa Marga, Yunial Harun, said yesterday that the company will launch a free-of-charge towing service for every city toll road user whose vehicle breaks down starting on Sunday.

Yunial said that the high traffic on those toll roads tends to back up if there is a broken vehicle at the side of the toll road.

"The quick removal of disabled vehicles is expected to help reduce the possibility of traffic jams," Yunial said.

Yunial said that the service is available at Cawang-Tomang-Grogol toll road, Cengkareng airport toll road, Taman Mini-Cililitan toll road, Pondok Gede Timur-Halim toll road and Kebon Jeruk-Tomang toll road.

Yunial said that the service is jointly arranged by PT Jasa Marga, the AA Club and the Jakarta Towing Service, adding that the service is only available for vehicles weighing under 15 tons. (mas)
