Free Nutritious Meals Task Force: Lampung Nutrition Units Face IPAL Hurdles for Hygiene and Sanitation Certificates
Bandarlampung - The Lampung Province Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Task Force reported that 376 Nutrition Service Units (SPPGs) under the MBG programme have obtained Hygiene and Sanitation Compliance Certificates (SLHS).
“Of the 1,158 operational SPPG kitchens in Lampung Province, 376 have been issued SLHS,” said Saipul, Head of the Lampung MBG Task Force, in Bandarlampung on Monday.
He added that 416 SPPG kitchens are currently in the SLHS certification process and have met all requirements.
“If these 416 units obtain their certificates, the total number of SPPGs with SLHS in Lampung would reach 792,” he stated.
Meanwhile, 534 SPPG kitchens are in the application process for SLHS.
During the SLHS application process, he noted that many SPPGs face challenges with water testing and Wastewater Treatment Plants (IPAL).
“Most of these kitchens have non-compliant IPAL systems, and the installation costs are high. However, this is mandatory to ensure beneficiary safety, so we are continuously pushing for all processes to meet regulatory standards,” he said.
The task force is also providing guidance to increase the number of SPPGs obtaining SLHS to guarantee the quality of meals distributed.
