BOGOR — The Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme is continuing to expand, reaching tens of millions of beneficiaries across Indonesia. In the first two years of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice-President Gibran Rakabuming Raka’s administration, the programme was reported to have reached more than 57 million schoolchildren, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers and children under five through 27,486 Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) in 38 provinces.

At SDN 3 Cileungsi in Bogor Regency, West Java, on Tuesday (20 October 2026), pupils ate meals provided through the programme. Behind the meals served at school, MBG aims to broaden access to nutritious food while making nutrition an important part of children’s growth and development. By the third quarter of 2026, programme spending was reported at Rp153.2 trillion, or 66.9 per cent of the effective budget ceiling.
