Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Each Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) kitchen or Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) receives an average daily budget allocation of Rp500 million. BGN Head Dadan Hindayana stated that this scheme represents a new funding distribution model for the National Nutrition Agency.

“BGN is introducing a new model where 93% of BGN funds are distributed directly to SPPG units. So, with Rp268 trillion in funds, approximately Rp240 trillion is circulating from Sabang to Merauke, and every day each SPPG receives Rp500 million,” said Dadan in a statement quoted Friday (27/2/2026).

“I believe this is a new model where not a single rupiah is transferred from the central government to regional administrations,” he added.

The number of SPPG units in a region determines the amount of funds circulating in that area. The more service units available, the greater the money in circulation daily.

To date, approximately Rp36 trillion has been circulating. According to BGN, this significant early-year fund circulation serves as an economic driver by directly targeting food procurement and operational expenditure.

The MBG programme is said to have a direct impact on regional production sectors, as local products are guaranteed absorption by the state. This increase in production absorption has impacted the Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP), reaching 125%, up from the previous 102%.

Meanwhile, BGR fund circulation is estimated to reach Rp62 trillion by March this year.
