Free Mudik Scheme 2026 Launched by Land Transportation Directorate: Schedule, Registration Method, and Routes
Jakarta — The Directorate General of Land Transportation (Ditjen Hubdat) under the Ministry of Transportation has launched the 2026 free mudik programme for residents wishing to return home for Eid celebrations.
Registration opened from 1 to 15 March 2026 or until daily quotas are filled. According to information from the official Ditjen Hubdat website, registration is available daily from 08:00 WIB. Online registration is conducted through the official portal nusantara.kemenhub.go.id and closes early once quotas are reached.
Participant departures are scheduled across three days from five terminals. The programme serves travel to 34 destination cities across ten provinces, including Palembang, Lampung, Bengkulu, Padang, Medan, Aceh, Garut, Tasikmalaya, Cirebon, Kuningan, Semarang, Solo, Yogyakarta, Wonogiri, Purwokerto, Tegal, Pekalongan, Demak, Boyolali, Klaten, Pati, Blora, Cilacap, Wonosobo, Kebumen, Magelang, Wonosari, Jepara, Sragen, Madiun, Surabaya, Tuban, Malang, and Tulungagung.
Motorcycle transport services are available for selected routes. Motorcycle handover takes place on 16 March 2026 at Pondok Cabe Terminal in South Tangerine. Motorcycles are subsequently dispatched overnight from the same location.
The free mudik programme is intended to assist residents with safer and more comfortable travel while reducing the risk of road accidents, particularly for long-distance motorcycle users.
