Free Mudik Registration Opens Today from Ministry of Transport, Check Requirements
Jakarta – The free Eid holiday travel programme from the Ministry of Transport has officially launched as of Saturday, 1 March 2026. Citizens are urged to register promptly online as the quota is limited and will be closed once filled.
The Directorate General of Land Transport has prepared 401 buses with a total capacity of 15,834 passengers for outbound and return travel flows.
“Registration opens from 1 March 2026 online via nusantara.kemenhub.go.id. Registration will be closed when the entire quota has been filled,” said Director General of Land Transport Aan Suhanan in a statement released on Saturday, 28 February 2026.
Registration is conducted through the nusantara.kemenhub.go.id website.
Several destination cities include Palembang, Padang, Medan, Garut, Cirebon, Semarang, Solo, Yogyakarta, Purwokerto, Surabaya, Malang, and Tulungagung.
For return travel, departures to Greater Jakarta are available from 12 cities, including Semarang, Solo, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Palembang, Padang, Medan, and Aceh.
The government also provides motorcycle transport facilities with a capacity of 240 units for routes covering Purwokerto, Solo, Yogyakarta, and Wonogiri.
All bus fleets used have undergone safety inspections (ramp checks) to ensure vehicles and drivers are in optimal condition.
