JAKARTA – The Free Mudik Programme of State-Owned Enterprises 2026 was officially launched through a flag-off ceremony held at Ring Road Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.

The bus departure began at 08.00 WIB, marking the start of the journey for thousands of migrant workers heading to various destinations across Indonesia.

In his remarks, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono stated that the implementation of the free mudik programme forms part of collective efforts to provide safer transportation services for the public during the Eid holiday period.

During the flag-off ceremony, 66 buses carrying approximately 3,300 participants from 96 BUMN companies and subsidiaries were dispatched. This bus fleet represents cross-BUMN collaboration in supporting the smooth flow of Eid-related mudik travel this year.

Overall, the Free Mudik Programme of BUMN 2026 recorded the realisation of 116,688 migrant workers. This figure exceeded the initial target set at 104,000 migrants, representing a realisation increase of approximately 10 per cent compared to the target.

Additionally, 99 train compositions with a capacity of approximately 28,720 passengers and 46 maritime vessels transporting approximately 4,532 passengers were made available.

The programme also introduced inclusive transportation services through the provision of special buses for migrant workers with disabilities.

This effort represents part of BUMN’s commitment to providing safe and comfortable mudik services for all segments of society.

BP BUMN Chief Dony Oskaria stressed that the Free Mudik Programme of BUMN demonstrates BUMN’s commitment to providing direct benefits to the public, particularly during significant occasions such as Eid al-Fitr.

“The Free Mudik Programme of BUMN is a manifestation of mutual cooperation and BUMN’s concern for society. We want to ensure that the public can undertake mudik journeys in a safer, more comfortable, and secure manner, whilst simultaneously helping to reduce traffic congestion during the Eid period,” Dony stated.

According to him, the year-on-year increase in programme participants demonstrates the high level of public confidence and enthusiasm towards the initiative.
