PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, deployed over 7,000 homebound passengers as part of the 2026 Free BUMN Mudik programme to support the smooth flow of Eid homecomers and provide services to the community.

The programme represents BNI’s effort to deliver public services with the spirit of “Serving Wholeheartedly”.

A total of 1,500 homebound passengers were dispatched at a send-off ceremony held at Ring Road Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) in Jakarta alongside other state-owned enterprises (SOEs). The event carried the theme “Comfortable Mudik Together: Safe Journey, Shared Hope”.

BNI Deputy President Director Alexandra Askandar stated that the bank’s participation in this programme was part of the company’s contribution to supporting public mobility ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

“Through the 2026 Free BUMN Mudik programme, BNI wishes to provide convenience for people to return to their hometowns safely and comfortably. This programme also demonstrates our concern so that communities can celebrate Eid with their loved ones,” said Alexandra in a written statement on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.

In addition to dispatch from GBK, BNI also operated other departure points at BNI Region 10 in Gatot Subroto, Central Jakarta; BNI Region 12 on Jalan Lada, West Jakarta; BNI Region 14 at Plaza BNI BSD, South Tangerang; and BNI Region 15 in the Jatinegara area, East Jakarta.

Participants were sent to five main routes: Jakarta-Purwokerto, Jakarta-Semarang, Jakarta-Yogyakarta (via Solo), Jakarta-Surabaya, and Jakarta-Malang (via Surabaya).

All journeys were conducted via the Cikampek and Trans Java toll roads, with exit points adjusted according to each passenger’s destination.

To support travel comfort, programme participants received a mudik equipment package distributed on 14 March 2026 at Grha BNI in Jakarta.

Previously, programme registration opened on 27 February until 9 March 2026, followed by re-registration on 12-13 March 2026.

Alexandra hoped that the programme would help the public enjoy a safer, more comfortable and well-organised homecoming journey.

“BNI hopes that homebound passengers can reach their hometowns safely and celebrate Eid with their families with great joy,” said Alexandra.

Through participation in the 2026 Free BUMN Mudik programme, BNI affirmed its role in supporting social programmes that provide direct benefits to the community. This initiative is expected not only to facilitate the smooth flow of homecomers, but also to strengthen BNI’s presence as an institution actively serving the public wholeheartedly.
