Free Inter-Island Travel Programme by NTB Provincial Government 2026: Requirements and Registration Guide
Eid al-Fitr is a moment to gather with family and relatives in their hometown. Free inter-island travel programmes have become a popular option given the high enthusiasm among migrants to return to their hometowns.
This enthusiasm drives increased demand for transport tickets, both via air and land routes. This is often accompanied by sharp increases in ticket prices that are unfavourable for many members of the public.
The Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB) Provincial Government is launching a free inter-island travel programme ahead of Eid 2026. Registration for the programme, entitled “Mudik Gratis Bersama NTB Makmur Mendunia”, opened on 9 March 2026.
The NTB Provincial Government is providing various land and sea transport, including large coach fleets and ocean-going vessels. The free travel routes depart from Mataram City to areas including Sumbawa, West Sumbawa, Dompu, and Bima.
However, the quota for the free travel programme is limited. Furthermore, the programme is exclusively for students and pupils in NTB.
Routes for the NTB Provincial Government’s Free Travel Programme 2026
Five routes are being provided in the NTB Provincial Government’s free travel programme for 2026. Below are the details:
Mataram to Sumbawa District
Mataram to West Sumbawa District
Mataram to Dompu District
Mataram to Bima District
Mataram to Bima City
Departure Location and Time
Participants in the NTB Provincial Government’s free travel programme will depart at 09:00 WITA on Saturday, 14 March 2026 from the Office of the NTB Provincial Department of Transport.
Registration Period
Registration for the NTB Provincial Government’s Free Travel Programme 2026 is open for three days, from 9-11 March 2026, from 08:00 to 15:00 WITA.
Re-registration will be conducted from 08:00 to 15:00 WITA on 13 March 2026.
Requirements for the NTB Provincial Government’s Free Travel Programme 2026
NTB residents wishing to participate in the free travel programme must prepare several requirements. The requirements and registration procedures are as follows:
Follow and monitor the official Instagram account of the NTB Provincial Department of Transport to obtain information updates.
Must submit an Identity Card (KTP) or Family Card (KK) as administrative documentation.
Registration is carried out by scanning the barcode provided, then completing registration through a Google Form (9-11 March 2026).
