Amid global economic challenges and lingering recession concerns affecting various industrial sectors, Wong Hang Bersaudara has demonstrated a strong commitment to its employees’ welfare through the free Lebaran homecoming programme for 2026. The premium tailoring company transported nearly 600 employees to their hometowns. One bus was dispatched in a ceremony from the company’s headquarters on Jalan Sultan Iskandar Muda, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (18/3/2026). A touching and joyful atmosphere was evident on the faces of the employees heading home. They not only received free transportation but also various souvenirs such as staple food packages and travel meals. Managing Director of Wong Hang Bersaudara, Stephen Putra Wongso, revealed that the participants in this homecoming are part of approximately 1,200 employees working under the Wong Hang Group. “They come from various business lines of ours, not just tailoring, but also garments, MEP, shoe factories, and construction,” he said. This free homecoming programme is not new. Stephen noted that the tradition has been running for more than 10 years as a form of the company’s attention to its employees. In fact, this year marks the largest edition in the company’s history. “This year, the number is the largest compared to previous years. We provided 10 buses, as well as travel and tickets according to the employees’ choice of transportation,” he explained. Interestingly, the company also offers flexibility for employees who already own personal vehicles. “There are some employees who already have cars. We assist with fuel money so they can homecoming comfortably,” Stephen added. According to him, the greatest happiness as an entrepreneur is not just about business profits, but also the ability to share with employees, especially in difficult times like now. “Amid the economic recession and many companies collapsing, we are grateful to still be able to make employees happy. Happiness is not always about the size of THR, but the company’s attention is also very meaningful,” he stated. Stephen hopes this programme can increase employees’ work spirit after returning from the Lebaran holiday. With the facilitated homecoming ease, workers can focus more on enjoying time with family without being burdened by travel costs. “The hope is that they can return to work with renewed spirit, because their homecoming has been assisted by us, so they can focus on family and future work,” he concluded.
