Free Health Screening Programme Vital for Early Disease Detection, Says Transmigration Ministry

The Free Health Screening (CKG) programme is a crucial step for the early detection of diseases before they develop into more serious conditions. The government programme allows the public to know their health status periodically at no cost, enabling faster treatment if health issues are found. Routine health checks are considered capable of detecting various diseases that often show no symptoms in their early stages, such as hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, and even some types of cancer. By knowing the body’s condition early, the risk of complications like stroke and heart attack can be reduced. Besides helping to prevent diseases from worsening, the CKG also reduces the burden of medical costs. The earlier a disease is found, the greater the chance of treating it before it requires more complex care. This programme also serves as a means for the public to consult with health workers about healthy lifestyles. Periodic check-ups help people understand their body’s condition while evaluating their health, especially for those with a history of certain diseases. The free health screening services generally include blood pressure checks, height and weight measurements, blood sugar, cholesterol, and uric acid tests, as well as eye, hearing, and dental health examinations, and tuberculosis (TBC) screening. The public can also consult directly with health workers regarding the results of their examinations. The Ministry of Transmigration has also shown its commitment to promoting routine health checks. In collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the ministry once again held a Free Health Screening programme for all its employees. Deputy Minister of Transmigration Viva Yoga Mauladi stated that the activity is part of the implementation of President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita mission to expand access to health services and build healthy, quality Indonesian human resources. ‘Today the Ministry of Transmigration is holding free health checks in collaboration with the Ministry of Health. This is routinely carried out every year as a realisation of President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita. In addition to free nutritious meals, there are also free health checks for all Indonesian people, from babies to the elderly,’ said Viva Yoga Mauladi at the Ministry of Transmigration office, Jakarta, Wednesday, 22 July 2026.
