Free Health Check-up Programme in Central Jakarta Reaches 274,925 Residents

Jakarta (ANTARA) - A total of 274,925 residents of Central Jakarta have used the Free Health Check programme (CKG) as of 15 July 2026, or 26.58 per cent of the service target, thereby meeting the second-quarter target set for the programme’s implementation, according to the Central Jakarta Health Sub-agency.

Ilmi Tri Indiarto, Head of the Central Jakarta Health Sub-agency, said the achievement has met the second-quarter target set for the implementation of the CKG programme.

“Based on data as of 15 July 2026 at 17.00 Western Indonesia Time, CKG coverage in Central Jakarta stands at 26.58 per cent, with a total of 274,925 people having received CKG services. Overall, Central Jakarta has already met this second-quarter target,” Ilmi told ANTARA in Jakarta on Thursday.

Ilmi explained that the highest uptake was recorded at the Cempaka Putih subdistrict community health centre (puskesmas), with services reaching 27.97 per cent.

Meanwhile, coverage in the Johar Baru puskesmas area is still being improved and currently stands at 24.78 per cent.

According to Ilmi, the implementation of the CKG programme in Central Jakarta remains on track and is being continuously expanded so that more residents can make use of the health screening services.

To increase public participation, the Central Jakarta Health Sub-agency has prepared a number of strategies, including promoting the CKG programme to schoolchildren, cooperating with ministries and agencies, delivering services at companies and offices, and reaching communities through various public events.

“Strategies to increase residents’ participation going forward include CKG outreach for schoolchildren, cooperation with various parties, and a number of activities such as car-free days, Chinese New Year celebrations, and other events,” he said.

He expressed hope that the wider reach of these services would raise public awareness of the importance of regular health checks, so that disease risk factors can be detected earlier.

The Free Health Check programme is one of the government’s efforts to improve early detection of disease risk factors while strengthening promotive and preventive services in the community.

In Central Jakarta, the service is delivered through the puskesmas network and healthcare facilities cooperating with the government.
