Free Float Officially Increases, Corporations Accelerate New Share Issuances
Listed companies are preparing to release new shares to meet the regulation on the minimum public share portion or free float of 15%, which will apply gradually. This policy is expected to increase liquidity and deepen the domestic capital market. The Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) is providing a transition period for issuers to meet the minimum 15% free float criteria, effective from Tuesday (31/3/2026). The free float compliance deadline depends on the company’s size, ranging between 2027 and 2029.
