Free Electric Rickshaw Rides Around Malioboro Available Tomorrow, Here's How to Join

The free electric rickshaw programme in Yogyakarta has returned. Residents and tourists can enjoy a free rickshaw ride around Malioboro. The free rickshaw service will be available on Tuesday, 21 July, starting at 2 p.m. Western Indonesia Time. Information about the programme can be found on the Yogyakarta city government’s Instagram account, @humasjogja. “You can enjoy the experience of travelling around the Malioboro area with an electric rickshaw for FREE. This programme is open to everyone, without exception!” the @humasjogja account wrote on Monday. The journey will begin at Pos Gumaton, the former Abu Bakar Ali car park. From there, tourists will be taken on a tour of Malioboro. To participate, visitors simply need to come to Pos Gumaton, inform the committee of their wish to ride the free electric rickshaw, follow the committee’s directions, and enjoy the journey.
