Jakarta — The Regulatory Body for State-Owned Enterprises (BP BUMN) has once again rolled out its Free BUMN Mudik Programme for 2026 with significantly increased participation. The number of homecoming travellers this year recorded growth of approximately 10.3% compared to the previous year.

Jasa Raharja Managing Director Muhammad Awaluddin stated that this year’s free mudik programme involved 96 BUMN enterprises and their subsidiary companies with extensive travel coverage. Routes provided encompassed more than 200 cities and regencies across various regions of Indonesia.

“This programme has become part of a collective effort to reduce the use of private vehicles, particularly motorcycles, for long-distance travel so as to support improved road safety during the Lebaran transport period,” Awaluddin said during the Free BUMN Mudik Flag Off in Jakarta on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.

Based on implementation results, the number of participants in the 2026 free BUMN mudik programme reached 116,688 travellers. Participants were transported via three main modes of transport: buses, trains, and ships.

“If compared with the 2025 realisation of 105,794 travellers, this year’s achievement shows growth of approximately 10.3%,” he said.

Meanwhile, the realisation also exceeded the 2026 target set at 104,000 travellers, reaching 112.2% of the target. This reflects the high enthusiasm of the public towards the free mudik programme organised by BUMN.
