Free BUMN Homecoming Programme 2026 Transports 116,688 Passengers
Jakarta – The free homecoming programme organised by state-owned enterprises (BUMN) for Eid 2026 exceeded its target, with a total of 116,688 passengers transported, representing 112.2 per cent of the initial target of 104,000 passengers.
Muhammad Awaluddin, Chief Executive Officer of PT Jasa Raharja, stated that the achievement demonstrated the high public interest in the BUMN free homecoming programme. “This demonstrates the high enthusiasm of the public towards the BUMN free homecoming programme,” said Awaluddin in Jakarta on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.
He added that this year’s achievement also increased compared to the previous year’s realisation. In 2025, the number of passengers was recorded at 105,794 people. “If compared with the 2025 realisation, this year’s achievement grew by approximately 10.3 per cent,” he said.
For sea transport, 46 ships were utilised to transport 4,532 passengers on 14–15 March 2026. Meanwhile, train services operated 99 trains that carried 28,720 passengers on 16–17 March 2026. Bus services proved the most dominant mode, with a total of 1,541 buses departing on 15–18 March 2026, carrying 83,436 passengers. “Specifically in Jakarta, 165 buses were despatched to various homecoming destinations,” explained Awaluddin.
The system links all operators, allowing participant data to be managed in a single database. “Through this system, quota distribution becomes more equitable and the potential for duplicate registrations can be minimised,” he said.
Regarding safety, all fleets used underwent fitness inspections or ramp checks with relevant agencies, including vehicle administrative verification and health examinations for drivers and crew. “All drivers have undergone health testing and completeness checks prior to departure, ensuring that the journey proceeds safely in accordance with manifest data,” Awaluddin emphasised.
