Fraudulent Honorarium Findings at Kukar Education Office Reach IDR 9.5 Billion, Recovery Underway

The alleged value of fraudulent honorarium payments at the Kutai Kartanegara (Kukar) Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud) has reached IDR 9.5 billion. The findings are detailed in the Audit Board of Indonesia’s (BPK) Examination Results Report on the 2025 budget implementation. The findings relate to approximately 900 honorarium payments, which are now being followed up by the regional government through a loss recovery mechanism in accordance with applicable regulations. Head of Kukar Disdikbud, Heriansyah, stated that upon receiving the BPK report, his office immediately conducted internal coordination to formulate a resolution plan. The process also involves the Kukar Inspectorate as the Government Internal Supervisory Apparatus. ‘As soon as the BPK report was submitted, the Inspectorate followed up according to the prevailing mechanism. We then held an internal meeting to devise recovery measures for the IDR 9.5 billion finding,’ he said when met at the Kukar Disdikbud Office on Tuesday. According to Heriansyah, fund recovery efforts have already been initiated by some parties linked to the findings. However, the process is still ongoing as several administrative stages must be completed. ‘Several individuals have already returned funds, but the entire process is still underway,’ he said. He explained that the BPK has given the regional government 60 days to complete the recovery process after the report is submitted. Once this period expires, further handling will be processed through the State Treasury and Compensation Claims Council. ‘During those 60 days, the focus is on recovery. After that period ends, it will be processed according to the mechanism by the Council,’ he clarified. Nevertheless, Heriansyah admitted he does not yet know the total amount of funds that have been returned. All records of returns, he said, are held by the Inspectorate via the Deposit Receipt Letter. ‘I do not yet know the amount that has been deposited because the records are with the Inspectorate,’ he concluded.
