Frans Antoni's Role: Financial and Operational Controller for Fredy Pratama
The Directorate of Narcotics Crime (Dittipidnarkoba) of the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) Polri has revealed the central role of Frans Antoni in the organisational structure of the international drug network led by Fredy Pratama. Frans is known to be not just an ordinary member, but a key figure who controls the financial and field operations of the Fredy Pratama drug network.
Director of Narcotics Crime at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, disclosed that Frans Antoni held three strategic roles simultaneously. “Frans Antoni’s roles are as financial controller, field controller, and operational controller of the syndicate led by Fredy Pratama,” said Eko in Jakarta, Friday (19/6/2026).
In carrying out his duties managing the proceeds of crime, Frans utilised a network of illegal money changers spread across three countries: Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia. One frequently used method was exchanging drug money into 1,000 Singapore dollar notes in Indonesia, before physically transporting the cash to Thailand.
Beyond conventional routes, the syndicate also adopted digital technology to disguise their transactions. “To facilitate the cross-border movement of illegal funds, Frans Antoni’s group also used cryptocurrency methods,” Eko added.
Aside from handling finances, Frans is strongly suspected of arranging the entry of narcotics from Malaysia and Thailand into Indonesia via sea and land routes. The scale of his operations is considered massive, with the capability to smuggle up to half a tonne of drugs each month.
Frans’s flight ended on Thursday (18/6/2026) after he was apprehended in Malaysia. On Friday, he was flown to Indonesia to undergo intensive questioning. Police are now focusing their investigation on mapping all financial flows to completely dismantle the Fredy Pratama support network.
To date, Fredy Pratama himself remains on a red notice. The drug kingpin is known to have left Indonesia in 2014 and is believed to continue controlling his illicit business from abroad, moving between areas in Thailand and Malaysia.
