The financial sector is growing rapidly alongside the development of digital technology. Unfortunately, financial literacy in Indonesia is still uneven.

This was acknowledged by Chairul Tanjung, Chairman of CT Corp. According to him, information on financial, economic, and business education is very limited in Indonesia. Therefore, collaboration is needed from various parties to promote financial literacy. One of them is through the Jogja Financial Festival 2026.

CT said this event is very appropriate to increase public understanding of financial issues, both for individuals and businesses, so that it can be known to the wider public.

As known, the Jogja Financial Festival 2026 will be held by the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) on 22-23 May 2026 at Jogja Expo Center (JEC), Yogyakarta. This event is designed as a strategic platform to bring together business leaders and financial practitioners through discussions, collaborations, and education on financial issues.

“The Jogja Financial Festival will be held physically in Yogyakarta but its mandate is for all Indonesian people and even abroad. In addition, it will be made attractive with many activities so that participants can gain knowledge and entertainment,” said CT on Friday (24/4/2026).

In addition to formal events and entertainment, there will also be educational classes filled by experts from related institutions. Furthermore, there will be a RUN activity, namely Jogja Run D-City, consisting of a 5K Fun Run and a 10K Race Run with prizes reaching tens of millions of rupiah.

“All costs are covered by the organising committee because 100% of the registration fee will be donated for scholarships. Organisational costs are not deducted. This is truly given to those who deserve it. So the success of this event will be the success of Yogyakarta and the success of UGM,” CT concluded.

It is known that the event is planned to be opened by the Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Prof. dr. Ova Emilia, M.Med.Ed., Sp.OG(K)., Ph.D. In the event, Prof Ova will also participate in Business Talks, as this financial festival will bring together stakeholders in the financial sector. From policymakers, regulators, financial industry players, academics, to the general public to discuss, share perspectives, and encourage increased financial literacy in Indonesia.

In addition to Prof Ova, the Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X, as the host, will also participate, including in the Business Talks session.

The Jogja Financial Festival 2026 will be filled with a number of interesting activities, such as business talks, educational classes, and a career corner. No less interesting, the event will also feature stand-up comedy by Kiky Saputri as well as music performances by top artists such as Ari Lasso, Happy Asmara, and Juicy Lucy.
