Moscow (ANTARA) - France will strengthen cooperation with the Lebanese Armed Forces and supply them with armoured personnel carriers, said French President Emmanuel Macron. “France will strengthen cooperation with the Lebanese Armed Forces and will provide armoured transport vehicles, as well as operational and logistical support,” Macron said on X on Thursday. The French president said he had spoken with Lebanese leaders to develop plans aimed at ending the military confrontation between Israel and Hezbollah. Macron also reiterated his appeal to Israel to halt its ground operations in Lebanon. “Due to concern over tens of thousands of Lebanese civilians currently fleeing to the south, I have decided to immediately send humanitarian aid for them,” Macron said. “Several tons of medicines are being transported, together with shelter and other aid,” he added. Hezbollah on Monday again launched active military operations against Israel amid escalating conflict in the region and intensified Israeli and US strikes on Iran. In response, the Israeli army intensified its attacks on Lebanon, striking the southern outskirts of Beirut, as well as the eastern and southern regions of the country.
