France, RI sign aid deal
PARIS (AFP): France and Indonesia have signed a financial protocol calling for France to grant 761.5 million francs (US$140 million) worth of financing for various projects, the French Economics Ministry said.
The agreement will make it possible to carry out projects in the water, telecommunications, airport and hospital sectors, the announcement said Tuesday.
The accord was signed by the Indonesian ambassador to Paris and the Ministry of Economics.
The announcement said signature of the agreement showed France's desire to continue active participation in Indonesian development and to increase bilateral trade (which amounted to around 11 billion francs in 1992).
