Fragile Ceasefire, Trump Still Boasts of Conquering Iran, Israel Continues to Bombard Lebanon

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, WASHINGTON – The ceasefire between Iran and the US-Israel alliance is fragile. United States President Donald Trump has warned that US forces will remain deployed around Iran. He has threatened to carry out large-scale military action if Tehran fails to meet Washington’s demands.

Writing on social media on Wednesday evening, Trump said that US forces, aircraft, and navy will remain in their positions until what he called the “REAL DEAL” can be fully implemented.

“All US ships, aircraft, and military personnel… will remain in place inside and around Iran, until the REAL DEAL that has been reached is fully complied with,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“If for any reason this does not happen… ‘Shooting will commence,’ bigger, better, and stronger than anyone has ever seen before.”

The statement comes just one day after the two-week ceasefire between Washington and Tehran, mediated by Pakistan.

The agreement halted six weeks of fighting and temporarily calmed global markets worried about disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz.

However, as reported by Al Jazeera, Trump’s language underscores how quickly the ceasefire could unravel.
