FPLKP releases 4,021 LKP alumni to work in 11 countries
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Forum of Course and Training Institution Managers (FPLKP), together with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen), released 4,021 alumni of course and training institutions (LKP) to work in 11 countries during Gebyar Kursus 2026 in Jakarta on Saturday.
Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu’ti said the release demonstrates the role of LKP in preparing human resources with the skills needed to enter the world of work.
“This shows how the role of non-formal education institutions, particularly LKP, in educating the nation, also provides education and skills for Indonesian children to obtain employment in professional sectors, both at home and abroad,” said Abdul Mu’ti.
He said the government continues to encourage the provision of education that is accessible, flexible and affordable through both formal and non-formal education.
According to him, course education is one of the means to equip the public with life skills and the competencies needed to obtain employment.
“This programme is also a clear example of how formal and non-formal education play an important role in equipping Indonesian children with life skills so they can earn a decent livelihood and life,” he said.
Chairman of the Central Executive Board of FPLKP Zoelkifli M. Adam said course and training institutions play a role in preparing human resources through competency-based training.
After completing training, he said, LKP graduates can work or start a business, both at home and abroad.
“LKP is one of the education units that always creates human resources through competency. Of course, after these children are trained here, some become entrepreneurs and some work, both at home and abroad,” he said.
A total of 4,021 alumni released in the event will work in 11 countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Bulgaria, Singapore and Turkey.
According to Zoelkifli, the hospitality sector is one of the fields that absorbs many LKP graduates, including for jobs as cooks and cleaning staff.
In addition, caregivers are also one of the competencies needed in several countries.
Chairman of Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives Agung Widyantoro said the DPR supports the course and training education programme as part of efforts to improve the quality of human resources.
“We, representing our colleagues in the DPR, fully support the Kemendikdasmen programme, particularly from course and training provider institutions or LKP,” he said.
According to him, strengthening competencies through course and training education is necessary to improve the competitiveness of Indonesia’s human resources.
Gebyar Kursus 2026 also featured an Edu Fair, skills and institutional competitions, and a leisurely walk held on 29-30 August 2026 at Plaza Festival, Kuningan, South Jakarta.
The event was part of efforts to introduce course and training education as well as skills development opportunities to the public.
