FPI Reveals Gaza Doctor Rejected from Entering Indonesia: What's Going On, Inconsistent in Defending Palestine?
The legal representative of the Islamic Brotherhood Front (FPI), Aziz Yanuar, has spotlighted the alleged obstruction against a doctor from Gaza, Palestine, Dr Basim Naim, entering Indonesia. He assessed that the government must seriously respond to public voices questioning the case. “That is the voice of the intelligent public,” said Aziz Yanuar when confirmed by Republika.co.id on Thursday (7/5/2026). According to Aziz, the government must accommodate public aspirations and demonstrate concrete support for the Palestinian people’s struggle, not just rhetoric. “The government must seriously address and accommodate that public voice. And the government should be consistent in its concrete support for Palestine, not just empty words,” he stated. Aziz even assessed that the rejection of a Palestinian struggle figure is contradictory to Indonesia’s official stance, which has long supported Palestinian independence. “The rejection of a Palestinian struggle figure from entering Indonesia is a concrete form of empty support for the Palestinian struggle,” he said.
