Fox may be forced to relocate Thai film
BANGKOK (Reuters): Twentieth Century Fox may shift shooting of its film "Anna and the King" to Malaysia after Thailand's film board rejected the latest of several draft scripts, a project representative said on Tuesday.
"Most of the film staff are now in Malaysia and most likely the company will have to shift the location to that country," said an official of Bangkok's Oscar Company, a project representative.
The National Film Board rejected the latest script for Anna and the King on Monday after two hours of deliberations. It has rejected previous drafts on the grounds they are historically inaccurate and insulting to the revered monarchy.
"The board has not totally turned down the project, but it would rather wait for the final script instead of the draft version, which was hastily submitted just minutes before the meeting," a board official said.
